Twenty-seven Members of Parliament in the UK are to have their taxes investigated by Her Majestys Revenue and Customs (HMRC) department, they say. 

HMRC will not reveal the identities of the MP's or any other details regarding the investigations.

The investigations follow a warning made in July by HMRC head David Hartness that MPs would come under close scrutiny following the revelations that began the expenses scandal.
